What does your Town Council do?
The Lake Los Angeles Rural Town Council (LLARTC) represents the interests of the people of Lake Los Angeles to various government agencies such as:
- The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors
- California State agencies and representatives
- Federal government offices.
- Any other interested parties which may affect our area
The goals of this Rural Town Council (RTC) are to:Act as a unified, representative voice for the community of Lake Los Angeles, conveying
the needs and wishes of the residents to any county, state or federal governmental body
or agency. The Lake Los Angeles Rural Town Council (LLARTC) is not a governing body.
Lake Los Angeles boundaries:
The boundaries of the Lake Los Angeles sphere of influence, represented by this town council are as follows:
1. Bordered on the North by Avenue J from 120th Street East to the San Bernardino County line.
2. Bordered on the East by the San Bernardino County Line from Avenue J to Avenue S.
3. Bordered on the South by Avenue S from the San Bernardino County Line to Longview and Avenue Q from Longview Road to 120th Street East
4. Bordered on the West by Longview from Avenue S to Avenue Q and 120th Street East from Avenue Q to Avenue J.
Regular Meetings:
The Regular Meeting is always on the 4th Tuesday of each month and most often at the Multipurpose Room at Vista San Gabriel School which is located on Avenue O at 180th Street East.
Meeting time is 7:00 p.m. and usually lasts for about 90 minutes.
At the Regular Meetings you can expect to:
- hear useful information from guest speakers
- get law enforcement updates from our local Sheriff's Deputies
- have a forum in which to present your ideas, concerns, or visions for Lake Los Angeles
- get updates regarding our dealings with various government entities in furthering the goals
of the people of our community
- have access to various County and State officials as they attend
- hear or give community input and announcements
As with any issue, please review the Community Standards District (CSD) prior to attending meetings and bring any questions or comments you may have.
The general theme of the Community Standards is to protect our rural lifestyle and our dark skies as the People of Lake Los Angeles have asked for.
Planning Meetings:
Our Planning Meetings are also open to the public are announced at the Regular Meeting.
These meetings are simply to set the Agenda for the Regular Meetings...while these meetings are open...the public may
observe but usually does not participate in the meeting.
Planning Meetings are set and announced at the end of each Regular Meeting. They are usually held at the Sorrenson Park Office also at 7:00 p.m. on the 1st Monday of each month, unless that site is unavailable. The purpose of these meetings is to set the agenda for the Regular Meeting which is held on the 4th Tuesday of each month. All meetings will be conducted in an orderly fashion in accordance with our by-laws and Robert's Rules of Order. All meeting times and locations are announced at the Regular Meeting. |
